SEAFILM is an eco-friendly, reusable filter designed to reduce microfibre pollution from washing machines. Microfibres, tiny plastic particles shed from synthetic fabrics during laundry, are a major source of water pollution, harming marine life and ecosystems. SEAFILM uses a natural seaweed extract as the key filtering material, which traps microfibres during the washing process, preventing them from entering wastewater systems.

- 6 months: Successfully, complete the project and come up with a working prototype of microplastic filter for washing machine effluent in microplastic pollution hotspots in Malaysia that includes (working prototype) make the community more knowledgeable about microplastic contaminant that comes mainly from washing our clothes.
- 2 years: Expanding our product in the region to microplastic pollution hotspots in SEA and beyond and scaling up with more sustainable ways

<img src="/icons/brain_blue.svg" alt="/icons/brain_blue.svg" width="40px" /> Describe your target customers
- The target customers for SEAFILM include:
- Environmentally Conscious Urban Households: People who are concerned about their ecological footprint and are actively seeking ways to reduce plastic pollution in their daily lives. This segment is likely to be early adopters of eco-friendly products, willing to invest in sustainable solutions to mitigate their impact on the environment.
- Families with Young Children: Parents who are concerned about the long-term health risks of microplastics, especially for children, and are motivated to reduce environmental toxins. This segment may see SEAFILM as a way to contribute to a safer, cleaner planet for the next generation.
- Sustainable Fashion Advocates: Individuals who promote and wear eco-friendly or sustainable clothing and seek to protect the environment from the harm caused by synthetic fibers. These customers are keen on extending their sustainability practices beyond just purchasing eco-friendly clothes and would appreciate a solution like SEAFILM to further minimize environmental harm.

<img src="/icons/emoji-disappointed_pink.svg" alt="/icons/emoji-disappointed_pink.svg" width="40px" /> What pain points are you trying to solve?
- SEAFILM addresses several key pain points for its target customers:
- Environmental Pollution: Urban households are unknowingly contributing to the release of billions of microfibres into the environment through their daily laundry routines. SEAFILM helps customers eliminate this source of pollution, allowing them to take action against a critical environmental issue.
- Lack of Awareness of Microfibre Pollution: Many consumers are unaware of the microfibre pollution caused by synthetic clothing during washing. SEAFILM not only provides a solution but also raises awareness among consumers about their environmental impact.
- Limited Access to Effective Solutions: Current technologies to mitigate microplastic pollution are either expensive, complicated, or impractical for regular households. SEAFILM offers a simple, affordable, and reusable solution that integrates seamlessly into existing laundry processes, making it accessible for all types of users.
- Long-term Sustainability and Health Concerns: As more consumers become aware of the long-term effects of microplastic pollution on health and the environment, they are seeking sustainable products that address these concerns. SEAFILM offers a tangible way to reduce microfibre pollution and protect both the environment and human health from microplastic contamination.
