Improper UCO disposal
Improper UCO disposal is prevalent in ASEAN countries, contributing significantly to water pollution, sewer blockages, and increased waste management costs. In Malaysia, about 50,000 tons of UCO are improperly disposed of annually, causing substantial environmental and public health risks. Additionally, improper UCO disposal in Vietnam causes approximately 30% of water pollution incidents. This issue also prevents UCO from being utilized as a renewable energy source.
